¡ Porque  tiene que haber una primera vez para todo , intento escribir este blog en Español !     Ya estamos en julio, y me queda  menos de  dos semanas antes de irme a Holanda.  Có mo pasa el tiempo!  En seis meses, he tenido experiencias maravillosas y he conocido a más personas que en cada medio año antes.  Antes de venir a Murcia y empezar mi proyecto SVE, p ensaba que  hacer  el voluntariado fue a ser lo mas importante. En fin, parece que este solo es una parte pequeña de toda  la  experiencia .    C omo aprendí en inicio,  salir  de tu zona de confort   acelera la  forma de aprender y experimentar.  Durante los meses pasados, c onocí a mucha gente de otros países :  nunca  esperaba aprender sobre tantas otras culturas,  lenguas y religiones.  P o r   viajar   a diferentes ciudades de España  he visto muchos lugares hermosos .  También he aprendido mucho sobre mí misma y he pensado so bre  que quiero después el SVE y có mo lo puedo conseguir. Carnival Águilas It seems strange how my last blog post already is five weeks ago. I had been in Murcia for only two weeks then, and had experienced so much already! Now, it feels like I´ve been in Spain for a lot longer than just a couple of weeks, and there is a lot to write about! Since losing my comfort zone somewhere on Schiphol airport in Amsterdam, I´ve not missed it a single bit. I face new things with the least possible expectations and an open mind, and so far, it´s working out good! To start with Carnival, for example. In The Netherlands, I normally let the festivities, typical music and costumes pass by without any participation, and I never felt like I missed out on anything. But this time, things were going to be different.

Murcia Cathedral On the 19-th of February in the morning after a very long trip I finally arrived at the airport of Alicante or so called aeroport d’Alacant en Valenciano with sky-high mood and “Limbo” in my headphones. Although my trip was rather tiring I was a way too excited and full of enthusias m, so once I stepped out of the plane, I went running to grab my luggage from the recogida de equpaje (baggage claim) and get out to the sunny city. At the exit I was warmly met by Sonia and Antonia, who were patiently waiting for my arrival, holding a big paper with my name on it. Y, ahora, ¡Bienvenido a España! Land of contrasts, wine and olive, orange trees, corrida de toros, Spanish music and bailes de Flamenco,  Meditarrenean beaches, picturesque places and a lot more to add to the list, but now we are in Murcia, south-east of Spain, a university town with a great number of students. My new life was awaiting me in Murcia, the city Antonia drove me to from Alicante airport.

Flying over Valencia It has been two weeks since I have started my EVS experience in Murcia at the organization Atentión a la Diversidad y Voluntariado (ADYV). This organization is part of the University of Murcia, and exists of two different parts. One of them is a center for voluntary work, that I have not yet experienced much from. In a while, I will be volunteering in one of the projects associated myself, and I am already very excited about that! The other part of ADYV functions as a centre that supports students with disability with their education. They can, for example, provide for electronic devices or software to make visual impaired students able to use the online university facilities. They also play a very important role in mediation between students and their professors. At the moment, the office for disability is where I spend most of my working time!
